Exploring the Intersection of Gaming and Augmented Reality

Join us in Turkey for an exciting Learning, Teaching, and Training Activity (LTTA) titled “Augmented Reality in Gaming.” This event harnesses the power of AR technology in educational gaming, combining interactive learning with cultural immersion.

Immersive Cultural Experience with AR

The journey begins with a unique AR-enhanced touristic guide of Turkey, showcasing the country’s rich heritage. The Turkish partner, experienced in AR and gaming, leads this LTTA, providing essential tools, programs, and skills aligned with the project’s objectives.

Enhancing Skills through Interactive Activities

Participants will engage in various activities to develop personal competences, collaborating with peers from their schools and during partner visits. The focus will be on creating and designing e-tasks and games using AR technology, facilitated by the Unity Engine or other AR programs.

Participant Groups and Responsibilities

  1. Teachers:
    • Monitor and guide students in creating AR-based general subjects and games.
    • Participate in management meetings, discussing important project aspects and assessment plans.
    • Develop AR applications and games on professional topics, fostering cooperative learning among teachers and students.
  2. Students:
    • Provide feedback on AR touristic guides.
    • Develop AR tasks and games on predetermined topics.
    • Collaborate in sub-groups, with each group consisting of 10 students from different countries.

Objectives and Outcomes

The activities aim to demonstrate that using games in learning and teaching can be fun, motivating, and effective. By incorporating AR in educational games, we aim to enhance student engagement and prevent early school leaving.

Deliverables and Daily Schedule

Results: Participants will create an online tourist guide, AR-based e-tasks, and educational games. Certificates and Europasses will be awarded upon completion.

Daily Itinerary:

  • Day 1: Introduction of partners, team formation, and AR class initiation.
  • Day 2: AR lab sessions focusing on material collection and game storytelling, plus a teacher management meeting.
  • Day 3: AR lab workshops for sound recording in English and digital conversion of image tracks.
  • Day 4: Further workshops focusing on 3D integration using Mixamo, followed by game development.

This LTTA offers a unique opportunity to merge the realms of AR technology and gaming in an educational context, showcasing how this innovative approach can positively impact both teaching and learning experiences. Join us for a journey where technology meets creativity and cultural exploration.
